Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project progresses: 343 km viaduct, 5 km of key tunnel excavation completed
New Delhi: Work on India's first high-speed rail corridor between Mumbai and Ahmedabad is progressing steadily, with 343 km of viaduct construction and 434 km of pier work already completed out of the total 508 km alignment, according to an update shared by the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL).
Providing a progress update as of March 29, 2026, NHSRCL said that key structural works along the corridor have advanced significantly. "Out of 508 km, 343 km viaduct and 434 km pier work has been completed," the corporation said.
ICF sets new production record, rolls out 3,405 coaches in FY26
Integral Coach Factory (ICF), the premier passenger coach manufacturing unit of Indian Railways, has surpassed its previous production records during the financial year 2025–26. It rolled out 3,405 coaches, marking a 13 per cent increase from 3,007 produced the previous year.
Regular local train services to be restored in Beach–Chengalpattu section from Friday
Chennai: Following widespread public outcry over the cancellation of 44 train services and persistent delays on the Chennai Beach–Chengalpattu section, Southern Railway on Thursday announced that all 204 suburban train services will resume regular operations on the stretch from Friday.
